Inaugural Inductee
Vince Scorniaenchi
Executive vice president of Fortinos Vince Scorniaenchi began his illustrious 48-year career there at age 12 with daily 5 a.m. visits to the Ontario Food Terminal with his uncle John Fortino. Since then, he has worked in just about every capacity in the chain, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021 and is now an autonomous banner within the Loblaw family. He oversaw Fortinos’ dramatic growth by launching “Adventure” stores in 1996 and took ready-to-eat to new heights with the Pane Fresco food hall. Ten years ago, he oversaw the development of a new commissary behind the company headquarters in Hamilton to facilitate the next generation of Pane Fresco stores. He is a recipient of both the Golden Pencil 2016 and the Pentola d’Oro 2017 awards.
